| Daniels Daughter Admits Relationship With Kellz
Kelly have come forward to discuss the singer's sexual relationship with Maxine Daniels. But now the 21-year-old daughter of Kelly's former confidant and publicist has come out of the closet to tell her side. On Friday, VIBE.com reported respected Chicago music retailer George Daniels, exposing Kelly's relationship with his daughter on Los Angeles radio station KJLH. “He crossed the line with my daughter," Daniels said on Guy Black's morning show. "It didn't get to the extreme of that [sex tape] video or else I wouldn't be here, if you know what I'm talking about . . . When you're 21, and if you've been there already like I've been many years ago, you're still 15 to 16 mentally. You're vulnerable." Kelly's camp almost immediately released a statement defending his relationship with Maxine.
Hotels joining in green wave
In case you haven't noticed, hotels are going green, doing their part to be ecologically friendly. You might call it the Al Gore effect, although the movement began before An Inconvenient Truth won an Academy Award and its star won a Nobel Prize this year. The green efforts go further than asking guests to use towels and bed linens more than once (as they do at home), to conserve water and avoid flushing more detergent-laden water into sewers. It's also more than replacing incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs in guest rooms. Other green initiatives are more subtle - things a guest might never notice: recycling, low-flow faucets and showerheads, water-saving toilets, and the use of products that don't harm the environment or contribute to global warming.
Paul Advocates for Greater Respect for Personal Freedoms
There's only one law that I'm proposing. From now on, we're going to have our elections on the Internet," he said. During the question-and-answer session, a student asked Paul why it took him many years to deny that he wrote an article in his independent newsletter prejudicial towards blacks, Jews and gays in 1992. Paul admitted that he did not deny the allegations at first, but has since denied writing it, referring to the incident as a publishing oversight. He also said that he believes his record speaks for itself. “I handled it in 1996 differently, because I did feel a lot of moral responsibility for neglect. The sad part of it all is I'm probably the biggest champion of all for everybody," he said. .
Topping 2008 List of New Year's Resolutions: Go Green at Home
VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- This year many homeowners are adding a new commitment to their list of New Year's Resolutions: go green at home. Alongside pledges to quit smoking, exercise more, and spend more time with friends and family, fostering eco-friendly homes is a positive step for families' health and finances. According to the U.S. Green Building Council, buildings in the United States account for 71 percent of the nation's electricity consumption, 39 percent of energy use, 36 percent of all greenhouse emissions, 12.2 percent of potable water consumption, and 40 percent of global raw materials use. "Americans realize that all buildings, even their own homes, impact our environment. People are now doing what they can to help improve the health of our planet and are choosing materials and remodeling projects that make homes healthier, comfortable and longer lasting," says Stanley Gatland, Manager of Building Science Technology for CertainTeed.
Direct-vent fireplaces draw air and exhaust fumes outdoors
Q: I plan to install a gas fireplace myself for additional heat in a large family room. I want an efficient one, but one that also has realistic flames. Is a direct-vent design my best option? Jeff W. A: New gas fireplaces are very efficient, probably more so than your existing furnace, and they produce substantial heat. Most models should easily produce enough supplemental heat to keep even a large family room comfortable and warm. The heat outputs are only slightly different when set up for propane instead of natural gas. .
Does Your Car's A/C Have You Hot Under the Collar?
TARRYTOWN, N.Y., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- MS -- When summer comes and it's time to switch on your car's A/C, it might not blow as cold as you'd like it to. In fact, it could even be blowing hot air. Some estimate that older vehicles can lose as much as 15 percent of their air conditioning refrigerant every year, leakage generally caused when the system is not used during the winter months. During these months, the system's small O-ring seals dry out resulting in refrigerant loss and deterioration in system performance. The good news is, bringing back the cool to your car's A/C and enjoying a sweat-free ride to work doesn't have to mean an expensive stop at the corner garage. Automotive air conditioning technology has produced a new generation of easy-to-use, do-it-yourself products that makes bringing the cool back to your car simple, easy and a lot less costly than that trip to the mechanic's.
