DUCTZ Indoor Air Professionals Helps Restore Monte Carlo Hotel and ...
LAS VEGAS, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- DUCTZ National Service Team, an affiliate of DUCTZ Indoor Air Professionals, was called in to action for the immediate restoration of conditioned air systems at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas following the fire on January 25. All 3000 hotel rooms were evacuated after smoke and debris contaminated most of the guest room and rooftop air handling and duct systems. The DUCTZ National Service Team was tasked with restoring the hotel's indoor air quality to pre-fire conditions in time for the hotel's opening on February 15. The team, consisting of 72 DUCTZ business owners and technicians, cleaned and restored nearly 1,600 guest rooms and the entire air handling system that provides air to all of the hotel's common areas. With the Monte Carlo facing a huge financial loss for every day the hotel remained vacant, the DUCTZ team committed to completing their portion of the work only ten days after they began.
PS3: Glass half full or empty?
I don't believe titles like Haze or Metal Gear Solid 4 will shift that many more PS3s. But I do think Blu-ray's impact will begin to bite Microsoft. Few observers believe that HD-DVD will ever be anything more than the second placed finisher in a two horse race. And the growing library of Blu-ray titles, coupled with the PS3's capability to take on new features, makes the console an ever more practical choice as a next-gen disc player. Throw in the console's ability to connect to a PSP remotely - and remember sales forecasts for PSPs are positive - plus the growing media hub functionality, and PS3 may not be the lame duck some thought it was 12 months ago. Sony boss Howard Stringer believes PS3 is now "out of the woods". But let's not forget the R&D costs associated with the PlayStation 3 - Sony are many, many years away from recouping the costs of that development effort into the Cell processor and Blu-ray technology.
Animals Impounded, Building Nears Capacity
Norman, Okla. -- Officials in Norman impounded more than 30 dogs and cats this weekend. The animals are now at the Norman Animal Welfare Shelter, but overcrowding at the facility just became an even bigger issue. KSBI-TV's Kealey McIntire has more. Nearly 175 dogs and cats a week are taken to the Norman Animal Welfare Shelter. This weekend 23 cats and nine dogs were impounded and were taken to the shelter in addition to the normal activity. Major Jim Maisano, a Norman police officer, works closely with the animal welfare division. He says they're glad to help, but this weekend's activity adds to the overcrowding issue. "So that takes up a lot of our space not counting the average number of dogs and cats we take in during the week," says Maisano.
